Lemon and honey tart with walnut crust and honeyed figs

I'd spotted this recipe and mentally earmarked it months ago, but it's very difficult to get ripe figs here. I was so delighted to see them offered in the grocery store that I had to snatch them up and give this recipe a try. I thought the combination of honey, walnuts and figs sounded like a brilliant idea.

Musings

It had an interesting, savoury dessert taste--quite delicious, sweet but somewhat herby from the figs. A nice treat given how rarely we can get access to figs. The custard had a nice texture, light and simple. D noted he could have sliced the figs a bit thinner, mostly for aesthetic reasons. He also thought that we should try slightly less honey in the filling next time to bring out the walnut and fig a bit more against the sweet of the honey and the tart of the lemon.
